Church Matters – July 1903

The Vicar Writes:

I am anxious to get a new Lectern, either oak or brass, for Hackthorn Church. A fund has been started, to which I propose giving one or two of the Special Offertories this year instead of sending them away; and on Wednesday, July 22, there will be a Garden Party, at the Vicarage, from 4 to 10 p.m., with a small stall for the Sale of Work. A charge of 6d. will be made to include Tea, the proceeds to be given to this object. I hope this will meet with the hearty approval of all.
Mrs. Hills will be glad to receive gifts, or promises, towards the Work Stall or Tea Table, not later than July 18.
