October 1960 AROUND THE PARISHES

COLD HANWORTH On Sunday evening Aug. 21st, I added a note in the register of Services that we used electric lighting for the first time.

We have nearly reached the half-way in raising the £90 needed to pay for it as well as for tubular heating.

Now we have arranged to hold a Whist Drive in Hackthorn Village Hall on sat. Oct. 22nd at 7 p.m.

We have already had some good prizes offered and now appeal to all our friends to rally round and help this thoroughly deserving cause.

Offerings at the Harvest Festival on Sept. 25rth will be added to this Lighting and Heating Fund.
